ThistleDew Kids Chores is a tool for parents and other adults. Children do not use the app. We built it to collect as little as possible, and we do not collect personal data on our servers.
The children's names, chores, schedules, and settings you enter are stored only on your device. We do not have accounts, a backend database, or cloud sync, and the app does not use CloudKit.
If you choose to pair calendars, the app uses Apple's EventKit to read events from the calendars you select, only so they can print as banners on your chore sheets. Calendar access is optional and read-only. Event data never leaves your device, and the app never writes to your calendars.
When you generate a packet, the app requests a forecast from the Open-Meteo weather service for the place you entered in settings. Only that location is sent, with no names or other household details. If the request fails, the sheet says the forecast is unavailable. Open-Meteo's own privacy policy applies to that request.
The optional print-day reminder is a local notification scheduled on your device. It is off by default and is sent to the parent only.
You can share a household file with another adult through AirDrop, Messages, or Files. That file goes only where you send it. We never receive it.
No analytics, no advertising, no tracking, no third-party SDKs, and no selling or sharing of data. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
Deleting the app removes all of its data from your device.
